Lexington Emergency Operations Center Activated
Hazardous Material Release at Happy Acres Farm
The Lexington-Fayette Urban
County Government (LFUCG) Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has been
activated.
The EOC has received
information that there has been a Hazardous Materials incident at the Happy
Acres Farm. There are about 40-50 individuals being treated by responding
Lexington Fire Department (LFD) staff. Preliminary reports indicate that
this was caused by a pesticide (organophosphate) spill.
The two events are not
related.
Response activities at
Jacobson Park are ongoing.
